Sustainability memberships
At Björn Borg, sustainability is an important part of how we develop our business and our products. Our collaborations and memberships in different organisations give us access to knowledge, guidance and tools in areas such as climate, chemicals, working conditions, materials and production.

Better Cotton
We are committed to contribute to the improvement of cotton farming practices globally through our membership in the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI™).
Better Cotton is a global sustainability programme for cotton that works to improve conditions for cotton farmers and cotton producing communities. It focuses on more sustainable farming methods, better livelihood opportunities and reduced environmental impact.
We can't trace Better Cotton to an end product, as it is sourced through a system called mass balance. This means that when you choose a product with Better Cotton, you are not guaranteed that the product you buy actually contains Better Cotton. However, you will have supported the cultivation of cotton equivalent to the amount needed for the product you have purchased.
Amfori BSCI
Amfori BSCI, the Business Social Compliance Initiative, helps companies monitor and improve working conditions and human rights across global supply chains.
Björn Borg has been a member for many years, and around 95% of the factories we produce with are connected to Amfori BSCI. The remaining factories are covered by other social compliance programmes.
For our seven largest-volume factories, Björn Borg acts as Responsible Sourcing Partner, RSP. This means we initiate annual independent audits covering areas such as working conditions, health and safety, child labour, chemical management, fire safety and overtime.
If areas for improvement are identified, we create an action plan together with the supplier and follow up to ensure the actions are implemented.
STICA
STICA, The Scandinavian Textile Initiative for Climate Action, supports textile and fashion companies in reducing their climate impact in line with the 1.5-degree target.
Through our membership, we receive support in mapping and monitoring emissions in parts of our supply chain, including factories in tier 1 and tier 2.
This helps us understand where climate impact is greatest, track progress over time and identify opportunities for improvement.
SFA
SFA, Sustainable Fashion Academy, works to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable textile and fashion industry.
Through our collaboration, we gain access to knowledge, training and industry insights on topics such as upcoming legislation, new requirements and developments within sustainability.
This helps us keep our work up to date as regulations and expectations change.
Kemikaliegruppen
Kemikaliegruppen, run by RISE, helps textile companies stay up to date on chemicals, legislation and safer alternatives.
We use Kemikaliegruppen's guides in our communication with suppliers and stay informed about new regulations and chemical requirements.
Textilimportörerna
Textilimportörerna is an industry organisation for companies working with textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods.
Through our membership, we gain access to up-to-date guidance and training on areas including legislation, chemicals, customs, product labelling, product classification and sustainability.
This helps us stay informed about requirements and changes affecting our industry and business.
