How to pack a suitcase - Smart packing tips for travelling
Here we will give you some smart and practical packing tips and packing list, along with inspiration from our travel bag selection.
Packing tips for travelling – Pack your suitcase smart
Is it time for a vacation trip? Amazing! We will help you with the packing, not the actual packing obviously (you have to do that one on your own, sorry!), but we will give you some smart packing tips and packing list to make it smooth and easy.
The first thing you’ll need to do is know how long you will be going away for and therefore know what size of luggage you will need. Here at Björn Borg we offer a wide range of travel bags in different sizes, both trolleys, travel backpacks, weekend bags and duffle bags.
Next up – what do you need to bring? Make a list so you can check everything of as you go along, so you don’t forget anything important. A little further down in this article you will find a little packing list template to help you get started.
Some quick packing tips:
- Think about layering when you are packing the suitcase – start with bigger things in the bottom of the bag and go lighter when you continue packing. Think Tetris and try to fill in the empty spaces to have room for everything in a smart and efficient way.
- Roll some of the clothing items to save space and reduce wrinkles. It’s good to do with soft items like for example your t-shirts, sweaters and underwear.
- Fold your dressy pants, skirts and blazers nicely.

Weekend Bags & Duffle Bags
A weekend bag or duffle bag is a great pick for the shorter getaway or weekend trip. A stylish choice that has room for everything you need.
At Björn Borg you will find a wide range of duffle bags that are perfect for travelling. Among the features of these bags you will find:
Durable material
Smart pockets and compartments
Adjustable straps
Flexible carrying options
It’s in the bag – Organise your travel bag with packing cubes & toiletry bags
Another smart packing tip is to store smaller garment bags or packing cubes as they’re also called, in your suitcase. This will get you super organized and help you keep everything in great order. No more bag messes with everything you’ve packed all over the place.
A smart thing to bring on your trip is a laundry bag that you can store dirty clothes and underwear in. It looks nicer than having dirty clothes on the hotel floor and also makes it easier when unpacking later on, so you can just put everything from the laundry bag in the washing machine.
Keep your small essentials and make up in a nice toiletry bag. Stack up on the travel size shower gels and shampoo bottles so they fit perfectly in your toilet bag, preventing spills and leaks on your clothes.

Pack the kids' bags
If you are travelling with kids, it can be a good thing to have an extra backpack for them that they can bring on the plane, train or in the car.
Here you can store some extra clothes, snacks, toys, colouring books etc. that they can need on the way. Easy access for you and fun treats and things for them to keep them busy so they maybe not ask “are we there yet” every five minutes (no promises made here though haha).
Here are some examples of the backpacks we have in our collection.
